Author Spotlight
This week's author spotlight features three local-area authors. Evangeline Pierce, Katie Holland, and Brittany Sadel who are slated to attend the 1st Annual Hood County Literary Fest October 17, 2026.

Evangaline loves crafting adventures in which her main characters often face and overcome overwhelming odds. Faith, hope, and love within suffering are common themes in her writing. Her current work involves spinning new tales from old stories you’ve always loved. Reading fairy tales to her daughter has inspired her to write these works. Additionally, she has crafted an award winning series by combining her love of fantasy with her Christian faith. She currently resides in the best state of Texas with her husband, daughter, two dogs, a flock of chickens, and a garden full of vegetables.
Katie Holland is an author of Children's, Young Adult, and Romance books. If Katie's not writing, you can find her reading, cooking, or baking for her family. Her love of writing goes back to elementary school and her love of books goes back even farther than that. She takes inspiration from the everyday and lets her imagination take over. Katie loves seeing new places and enjoying what nature has to offer.
Brittany A. Sadel is an Amazon best-selling author, mental health advocate, and the owner and founder of Sadel Books LLC. Based in Texas, she writes heartfelt children’s books, inspiring young adult novels, and meaningful books centered on healing, hope, faith, resilience, and self-discovery.
